Chesley Ray Bailey

He was born October 13, 1927, in Calhoun County at Nicut, WV, the son of the late Greely Charles and Losie Gae Arnold Bailey. Buck was raised by his grandparents, the late Simon and Nancy Jane Arnold. He graduated from Calhoun County High School and was enlisted in the U S Navy and served doing World War II. He retired from Johns-Manville as a furnace tender in the marble department after 38 years. He was a great father, grandfather and husband who enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. His family was always first. Buck was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Vienna. Buck is survived by his wife, Wilma J Workman Bailey; daughter, Marsha Florence of Vienna; son, Kenneth Bailey (Rebecca) of Boaz; grandchildren Douglas (Andrea) and Kristi Florence, Samuel (Brandi) and Lance (Ashley) Bailey; great grandchildren Andrew, Kate, Addison and Asher Florence, Madelyn, Connor, Aiden, Alaina and Tyler Bailey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by parents, five brothers and seven sisters. Services for Buck will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, January 30, 2017, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna with Pastor Carolyn Nettles officiating. Burial will follow the service at Mt Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg with Military Service with Post 15. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 P.M at the funeral home In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Buck's name to the Humane Society of Parkersburg.
