It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Cheryl Dianne Gimpl, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and cherished member of the Parkersburg community, who peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
Born on Monday, June 19, 1950, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, Cheryl was the daughter of the late Eugene and Mary Isabelle Reynolds Hart. She was lovingly raised with her twin sister Sue Morann, and brother, Russell Hart, in a home filled with love and laughter.
Cheryl was a proud graduate of Parkersburg High School, class of 1969, and furthered her studies at the Apostolic Bible Institute in St. Paul, MN. Her professional journey included working at Dupont before she found her true calling as a caregiver, where her compassion and kindness touched many lives.
She was a devoted member of Spreading Truth Ministries, where she joyfully spent time nurturing her faith and community ties. Her love for gardening and flowers was apparent in the vibrant colors that surrounded her home, signifying the beauty and tranquility she brought into the lives of others.
Cheryl is survived by her son, Steven Erickson (Jill) of Maplewood, MN; daughter, Angela Erickson of Edina, MN; her three treasured grandchildren, Kara, Nora, and Emma; her twin sister, Sue Morann; brother, Russell Hart, and several nieces and nephews who lovingly called her aunt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Mary Isabelle Hart, and her infant son, Todd Erickson.
As we mourn the loss of Cheryl's gentle soul, a memorial service is being planned at Spreading Truth Ministries. The details will be announced at a later date, allowing friends and family to gather in celebration of her life.
Final arrangements have been made with Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, South Parkersburg.
May her soul rest in Peace and live in eternity with the Lord.
