Charles Leon Thomas

Charles Leon Thomas, 83, of Washington WV, peacefully went to be with his heavenly host Saturday, July 2, 2022. He was born February 14, 1939, a son of the late Charles L. Thomas and Edna R. Smith Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Hope Thomas; five sons, David Thomas (Sherry) of Finksburg, MD, Jon Thomas (Tina) of Bowling Green, KY, Tim Thomas (Karen) of Craigsville, VA, Paul Thomas (Kayo) of Chula Vista, CA, Wil Helmick (Mendy) of Belpre, OH; one daughter, Sandra McQueen (Troy) of Lawrenceville, GA; 12 grandchildren; five great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Leon is preceded in death by his late wife Karen Helmick Thomas; a sister, Patricia Thomas; a brother, Edwin Thomas; and one granddaughter, Emily Spencer. Leon was employed by Mon Power Co. for 35 years, and he enjoyed blacksmithing as a hobby. He was a member of New England Baptist Church. He also spent 8 years in the Army Reserve. Memorial services will be held Monday, July 11, 2022 at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, South Parkersburg with Roger Johnson officiating. Memorial donations are requested to be made to the Emily Spencer Memorial Foundation in care of Peoples Bank. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home is honored to serve the Thomas family.
