Date and Time of Service: Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010 6:00 p.m.posted 10/23/2010 at 3:43:23 PMCharles David Rhodes, 79 of Ripley, W.Va. died October 20, 2010 at Eldercare of W.Va. in Ripley.He was born July 16, 1931 in Ripley a son of the late Peter Frederick and Rosa Greenleaf Rhodes.He was a 1950 graduate of Ripley High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Marines having served from 1952 to 1954. He was an office equipment repairman with Westcott Company of Norfolk, VA. and was a member of the West Ripley Church of Christ. Dave enjoyed fishing and could fix just about anything.He is survived by his wife, Mary Belle Morgan Rhodes; a daughter, Mary Catherine Krippendorf and her husband, Rick of Virginia Beach, VA; a son, David Lee Rhodes and his wife, Julie of Chesapeake, VA; and one grandchild, Blake E. Krippendorf.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers; and four sisters.A memorial service will be 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010 at the West Ripley Church of Christ with Mike Foresha officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services 400 Green St. Parkersburg, W.Va. is assisting the family with arrangements.
