Charles "Charlie" R. Lipps

Charles R. “Charlie” Lipps, 76, of Vienna, WV, went home today, October 25, 2018 after a long battle with illness. He was born February 15, 1942 in Vienna, a son of the late Joseph and Thelma (Bailey) Lipps. Charlie did a tour of duty in the Army in the 1960’s, returned and worked for the City of Vienna for 45 years, retiring in 2008. He was an avid outdoorsman and Nascar fan. He loved hunting and fishing with his lifelong buddies, Sam Cross, Ray Gates, Doug Kelly, Bill Ayers and Marty Nonamaker. Surviving is his wife of 17 years, Ruth (Latstetter) Lipps; children, Robin, Charles A. and Marilyn Lipps; step-children, Rayanne Powell, Melissa (Kris) Starr, Rebecca (Jennifer) Dunfee and Kristen (Sherri) Williams Wells; three grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and his siblings, Freda, Glenn, Randy, Mary, Bill and Tina Lipps. In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by siblings, Francis, Joseph and Benjamin. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, October 29, 2018, at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna with Pastor David Carrico officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen North Cemetery, with full military rites by American Legion Post # 15 of Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday and one hour prior to the services at the funeral home on Monday. The family would like to thank Housecalls Hospice for their loving care and a special thanks to Dr. Jennifer Leavitt.
