Charles Harold Phillips of Vienna, W.Va., passed away November 21, 2014 at Camden-Clark Medical Center at the age of 79.Charles was born in St. Marys, W.Va., a son of the late John E. and Edna E. Keener Phillips. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion Post #15, both of Parkersburg.Charles retired from O'Ames Plant #2, where he was a plant superintendent. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had bird dogs, “Sally” and “Cammy”, and he shot skeet and trap. He was a member of the Marietta Gun Club, Tyler Rod and Gun Club, and Lee Creek Gun Club. He loved growing and canning his own vegetables and berry vines.Charles is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jacquelyn “Jackie” Phillips; a son, David E. Phillips; and a sister, Betty Negri. He also has a granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Fred; and two sisters, Jane and Dot.Funeral services for Charles will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienn, W.Va. with Pastor Jon Lands officiating. Entombment will be in Sunset Mausoleum. American Legion Post #15 of Parkersburg will conduct full military rites at the cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
