Charles Wendell Mccrady

Charles Wendell McCrady, 83, of Mineral Wells, W.Va. passed away on February 20, 2015 at Camden Clark Medical Center.He was born February 19, 1932, in Gay, W.Va., a son of the late Ottie and Mildred Walker McCrady.Charles was a 1950 graduate of Parkersburg High School and was retired after over 30 years of service at Elkem Metals. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family. Charlie was well-known at Erickson Field where he was on the board of trustees and worked diligently taking care of the parking lot, the field, ticket sales, and donations. There wasn't a day gone by that Charlie wasn't at Erickson working from its inception in 1995. He was dedicated to Parkersburg South sports and the youth of our community.He is survived by three sons, Allen and Anita McCrady, Scott and Diane McCrady and Dana McCrady, all of Mineral Well, W.Va.; eight grandchildren, Matt and Lynn McCrady of Buena Vista, Va., Amy Mitchell of Charleston, S.C., Charlie and Stacy McCrady of Parkersburg, W.Va., Kristy McCrady of Mineral Wells, Michelle and Barry Stover, of Ripley, W.Va., Amanda and Ricky Manuel of Fredericksburg, Va., Brandi and Kirby Bandaquillo of Atlanta, Ga., and Justin and Mary Ann Elkins of Atlanta; eight great-grandchildren, Eli and Sophia Mitchell, Charlie, Alyssa, Lilly and Brendan McCrady, and Braxton and Rhett Stover; and four brothers, Jim and Mary Ann McCrady of Parkersburg, John and Claudine McCrady of Mineral Wells, Barry McCrady of Parkersburg, and David and Judy McCrady of Parkersburg.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marian L. McCrady; and one sister, Betty Dickerson.Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Brian Arthur officiating.
