Hopkins, 85 of Vienna, W.Va. passed away September 3, 2015 at Parkersburg Care Center.He was born December 12, 1929 in Wood County, W.Va., a son of the late Argil and Nellie Francis Hopkins.Charles attended Parkersburg High School, was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the Korean Conflict, and retired in 1974 after 23 years service from Johns Manville. He had owned Jerry's Dairyette in Vienna and was a member of Masonic Lodge 169, was a Shriner and a 32nd Degree Mason. He also enjoyed hunting, playing fast pitch softball, watching football and other sports on TV and going to the family farm.Charles is survived by his wife, Zeta G. Wigal Hopkins; one son, Bob Hopkins and his wife, Susan of Parkersburg; one sister; one brother; three grandchildren, Heather Ann Haudenshield, Jim Hopkins and Jason Sturms; five great-grandchildren, Jillian and Jacob Haudenshield, Carson and Baley Hopkins and Jason Sturms.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Argil Hopkins, Jr.Memorial services for Charles will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. with Pastor Mark Watkins officiating. Full military rites by American Legion Post 15 will follow the services at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
