Charles E. GainerCharles Edwin Gainer, 71, of Parkersburg, went home to be with the Lord on February 6, 2011, at his residence.He was born January 9, 1940, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Olis and Grace Starr Gainer.Charles retired from Elkem Metal as a foreman after 30 years of service.He enjoyed traveling and was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.He is survived by his wife, Regina Shantel Speights Gainer; one daughter, Michelle Hutson (Ted) of Davisville, W.Va.; three sons, Charles Gainer II (Tammy) and Darren Gainer, both of Parkersburg, and Gregg Gainer of Rockport, W.Va.; five step-daughters, Kim Shaffer of Davisville, Debra Parker, Renate Trippett, Lesley Trippett, and April Trippett, all of Parkersburg; one sister, Lois Gainer, of Parkersburg; one brother, Steve Gainer (Janet) of Parkersburg; two special friends, Tim Rossitner of Beverly, Ohio and Steve Lantz of Vienna, W.Va.; several grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Delores Gainer; and one brother, Torry Gainer.Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Ron Hendershot officiating.Interment will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8, at the funeral home.
