A Memorial Video to Chuck is now available on this web site.Charles “Chuck” Wade Emrick, 84, of Mineral Wells, W.Va. passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015 at home with family by his side.He was born July 27, 1930 in Parkersburg, W.Va., a son of the late Clarence and Gertrude Wigal Emrick.He was a World War II, U.S. Army Veteran receiving the WWII Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal. He worked at Daughtery Propane Company in Mineral Wells for 13 years and was a rural mail carrier in Mineral Wells for 27 years. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1990.Chuck was a charter member of the committee which formed the Mineral Wells Public Water System which was instrumental in getting water into the district. He was known to always lend a helping hand to a neighbor or stranger in need and never denied a request for assistance. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Mineral Wells, W.Va.Chuck was an honest dependable man and a tireless worker. He provided for and led his family by quiet example and he taught himself the skills needed to tackle the task at hand. He had a passion for exercise and traveled throughout the United States. It was always known how much he enjoyed a good meal. He will be greatly missed.Chuck is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sue Kimble Emrick; their three sons, Lance Emrick (Elaine), Keith Emrick (Connie) and Brad Emrick (Brenda); their daughter, Denise Stewart (Dave); five grandchildren, Ty Emrick (Amanda), Janette Walters (Adam), Drew Emrick (Lindsay), McKenzie Emrick and Savannah Emrick; three great-grandchildren, Lydia, Ellia and Colton Charles Emrick; half brother, Greg Emrick (Carolyn) of Mineola, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by two brothers, Bernard Emrick (Carolee) and Ray Emrick (Juanita); his sister, Eloise Naylor (Earle); and half sister, Jan Blanchard.Services for Chuck will be held 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, South Parkersburg with Pastor Kevin Lantz officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral Home. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family extends special appreciation to Dr. William Cartwright and his nurse Deena for their years of exceptional care and concern.Memorials may be made to Erickson All-Sports Facility, P.O.
