Charles E. Barber

Charles E. Barber, 78, of Vienna passed away April 8, 2020 at The Willows Center. He was born November 5, 1941 in Marietta, son of the late Ralph Barber, Sr. and Mamie Burke Barber Bateman. Work was Charles’ life. He was manager of the Men’s Clubhouse at the Parkersburg Country Club where he worked for 54 years. He enjoyed being outside doing yardwork and most of all being with his family. He is survived by his two daughters, Alisha Barber of Parkersburg and Kari Marra of Vienna; one grandson, Chase Marra of Vienna; three brothers, William C. Barber, Roger Lee Barber, Ralph H. Barber Jr. (Jamie); and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Shirley Barber, Joanne “Jodi” Hatcher and Kathy Bateman; and one brother, Gary Bateman. There will be no visitation. A memorial service is being planned for a later date. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Crematory, 400 Green St. Parkersburg is assisting the family.
