Charles "Bud" A. Null

Charles A. “Bud” Null, 94, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, August 12, 2019 at Camden Clark Medical Center after a short illness. He was born July 21, 1925, in Ritchie County, WV, son of the late Ira Oscar and Dewey Melissa Lemon Null. Chuck served his country in the United States Navy during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Cockrill. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 15 and VFW Post 5108. Chuck was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was employed at American Viscose, worked construction as a Millwright and retired from E.I. DuPont working in the Butacite Department for 35 years. For many years he was a leader of the Country, Western and Bluegrass group, The West Virginia Pine Mountain Boys and Girls. Chuck and his wife, Thelma enjoyed entertaining in their home playing music and also on the stage. Chuck is survived by his only child, Tammy (Russ) Burkey of Parkersburg; granddaughter, Samantha Burkey of Parkersburg; nieces, Janet (Joe) Smith and Gina Faye (Rob) Moore; several special nieces and nephews; and two sisters, Modena Wilkinson and Corena Miracle. In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his first wife of 52 years, Thelma Faye Jackson Null; second wife, Doris E. Null; and older sister, Marguerite Beard. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Friday, August 16, 2019 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St, south Parkersburg with Pastor Aaron Stinnett officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with full military honors by American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. on Thursday at the funeral home.
