Cecil Denvil Starcher Jr., 81, of Elizabeth passed away February 13, 2024 at Parkersburg Care and Rehabilitation. He was born December 2, 1942 in Spencer, WV and grew up in Calhoun County. A son of the late Cecil Denvil Starcher Sr and Bertie Short Starcher. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. He worked in the oil fields for several years and retired from the WV Dept of Highways. He was a member of the VFW in Granstville, was a United Methodist by faith, and he enjoyed watching Gunsmoke on television. Cecil is survived by his wife, Julia Ann Clay-Starcher; two sons, Chris Starcher (Tammy) of Knox, PA and Eric Starcher (Tausha) of Elizabeth; four grandchildren, Chris (Courtney), Zach, Kyle, and Hope; three great-grandchildren, Spencer, Torii, and Macey; several nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Janie and Jeanie Starcher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Glenn, Dean, and Arnold Starcher. Per Cecil’s request, there will be no visitation or services. Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, south Parkersburg, is honored to serve the Starcher family.
