Cecil Darrell Madison

Cecil Darrell Madison Sr., 76, passed away peacefully at his residence in Parkersburg, WV on May 22, 2018 with his son, “Sonny Boy” and loyal companion, Britches by his side. Cecil was born in Parkersburg, WV, to the late Cecil and Wanda (Sweezey) Madison on April 19, 1942. He went to Parkersburg High School. Cecil retired from Kanawha Sand and Gravel and later retired from WV Department of Highways. An avid PHS and WVU football fan, he also enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching sports, and collecting coins. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Staats Madison; his sisters, Judith Darlene (Bob) Johnson and Lois (Dave) Cornell; his children, Cindy Kelley, Rhonda (Raymond) Kelley, C. “Little Darrell” Madison, Barbara (Pat) Kincaid, Tonya (Donnie) Boyd, Cecil (Angie) Madison Jr., Darrell E. (Shannon) Madison all of Parkersburg; four step-children, Tina (Robert) Martin, Sam (Angie) Moore, Corey (Beth) Moore and Chaad Moore all of Parkersburg; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; brother and sister in-laws, Tammy (Tim) Pierce, Trena (Gene) Fordyce, Karen (Dave) Hall, Jodie (Charlotte) Staats, Ruth Freeman, Angela Staats and Herman Staats. In addition to his parents, Cecil was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Staats Madison; two daughters, baby Madison and Roberta Madison Fordyce; and two grandsons, Patrick “Red” Kincaid and Josh Cornell. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St, south Parkersburg. Interment will follow in Parkersburg Memorial Gardens where military graveside rights will be conducted by the American Legion Post #15 of Parkersburg and assisted by Sara Chichester, bagpiper. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
