Cathy Ann Pahl

Cathy Ann Pahl, 61, of Vienna was called home to Heaven on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, following an extended illness.She was born August 24, 1949, in Gallipolis, OH to Clinton and Virginia Bush Hesson.She was a 1967 graduate of Belpre High School and a 1971 graduate of Glenville State College.She taught special education for Wood County Schools for nearly 30 years and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.She also taught at Freedom Christian School in Belpre, where she coached high school girls' volleyball.Cathy was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Vienna.She was previously a member of First Baptist Church of Belpre and was very active in the ladies and teen ministries.Cathy was an avid collector, gardener, and home decorator.She especially enjoyed shopping, playing with her grandchildren, and playing cards with her family.She is survived by her husband of 15 years, David W. Pahl of Vienna; her mother, Virginia Irvin of Belpre; one sister, Sandra Hesson of Parkersburg; two brothers, David (Rebekah) Hesson of Morgantown and Kevin (Lorraine) Hesson of Fleming; one daughter, Heather (Brian) Lynch of Taylor, TX; one son, Joshua (Lisa) Adams of Palestine; four grandchildren, Cora, Andrew, Zane, and Cameron; three nephews and three nieces; a large extended family; and many friends.She was preceded in death by her father, Clinton Hesson, and five unborn children.Viewing will be Friday, March 25, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home in Vienna.Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church in Vienna with Rev. Jon Lands officiating, with viewing one hour prior to the service at the church.Burial will be at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant, W.Va.
