Carroll William Thompson, 87 of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Sept. 26, 2015 at Camden Clark Medical Center.He was born Nov. 8, 1927 in Richwood, W.Va., son of the late Clyde Ray and Malindy “Lennie” Ward Thompson. Carroll spent his formative years in Bergoo, W.Va. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and Korea. He retired in 1983 after 32 years of service as a salesman in the oil and gas division of McJunkin Corp of Charleston, W.Va.He was a member of the Harrisville Lodge #98 A.F. & A.M., the Scottish Rite and Nemesis Shrine and was a Protestant by faith.He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Lou Salisbury Thompson; two daughters, Brenda E. Zika of Parkersburg and Joyce Ann Cooper of Belpre, OH; two sons, William David Thompson of Los Angeles, CA and Brian Thompson of Diana, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Daniel D. Cooper (Casey) of Scott Depot, W.Va., Wesley T. Cooper of Columbus, OH and William H. Thompson of Los Angeles, CA; and a beloved daughter-in-law, Martha S. Martin.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth H. Thompson; a grandson, Matthew C. Zika; and one infant daughter.There will be no visitation or service. Family graveside services will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg at a later date.
