Carolyn Sue Earl

Carolyn Sue Earl 72, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away January 27, 2015 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.She was born March 9, 1942 in Wood County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Hollie E. Spear and Freda Weser Spear of Parkersburg.Carolyn retired from her nursery career where she was co-owner of Country Side Greenhouse. She loved to paint and embroidery where she was a self-taught artist. She enjoyed flowers and gardening.She is survived by her husband of 55 years, John Chester Earl; one daughter, Rebecca Sue Hamrick (Junior); two sons, John Roy Earl (Trina) and Andrew Brian Earl (Becky); one sister, Mary Leach; one brother, David Spear (Deanna); grandchildren, Kathryn Sturms (Jason), Justin Hamrick (Trista), Tosha Earl, Kayla Hamrick, Krystle Earl, Shyla Earl, Seth Earl and Joshua Earl; and great-grandchildren, Jason “Lil Man” Sturms and Bentley Hamrick.Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Hollie Spear; daughter, Barbara Newhouse and son-in-law, Robert Newhouse.Funeral services for Carolyn will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, W.Va. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m.to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
