Carolyn Sue Bailey Roush

Carolyn Sue Bailey Roush, 68, of Hillcrest Street, Parkersburg passed away June 28, 2019 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital. She was born in Sistersville, a daughter of the late Dr. Harley and Helen Bailey. She was a member of the Jefferson Baptist Temple, where she served as treasurer and trustee. She also served as treasurer of the Jefferson Baptist Temple Ladies’ Guild. Carolyn was a devoted Christian who loved to serve the Lord. She loved attending Wednesday night bible study. Her favorite hobbies were traveling with her husband Gary to different Gospel sings, studying her Bible, reading, watching Days of Our Lives and Cincinnati Reds baseball and talking with her family and friends. Carolyn was an active member of the South Parkersburg Woman's Club. While a member she served as Vice President of the club. She enjoyed working the South Boys Basketball games and the South football games. She loved to cheer on her alma mater. Before moving to Parkersburg, Carolyn was a member of the Pleasants County Women's Club. She held a variety of offices while being a member. Carolyn also served as President of the State Women's Club. She was a former employee of the Pleasants County School system where she was a Pre-K Aide at Belmont Elementary School. Prior she was employed by Dr. Richard Gerber as a dental assistant. Carolyn was a graduate of WVU Dental Assisting Program and a 1968 graduate of Parkersburg South High School. Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Gary Roush; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Jason and Lesley Roush of Ripley; daughter and son-in-law, Jodie and David Pierotti of Parkersburg. She had seven grandchildren that she adored. She was their biggest cheerleader and enjoyed attending their numerous activities and sporting events. She would do anything for them. She knew how to make each grandchild feel special in their own way. Julia, Lauren, Joshua, Anna and Zachary Roush of Ripley and Andrew and Alexander Pierotti of Parkersburg. One sister who was her best friend, Lynn McCormick and the late Steven McCormick of Parkersburg. Brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Willard and Gloria Roush and the late Dolores Roush; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Norman and Judy Roush; sister-in-law Sandy Roush and the late brother-in-law Woodrow Roush and numerous other family and friends including Jerome Beya and Joyce Shaumba Ngoyi, nieces, nephews, great – nieces and great -nephews. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 2 at Jefferson Baptist Temple, 1405 Erie Street South Parkersburg with Pastor Ron Hendershot and Pastor Jerry Caplinger officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 5-8 PM on Monday, July 1, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., South Parkersburg and for one hour prior to the services at the church Tuesday. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Jefferson Baptist Temple Building Fund, c/o Lynn McCormick Treasure, 4438 14th Avenue, Parkersburg WV 26101.
