Carman C. Adams, 92, of Parkersburg, passed away peacefully in his sleep to be with the Lord on Monday, August 12, 2024. He was born December 28, 1931 in Pleasants County, a son to the late Cecil C. and Enid M. Dotson Adams. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Claudia M. Adams.
Carman was a 1950 graduate of Parkersburg High School. He spent 14 years at Acme Fishing Tool Co. and dedicated 25 years to DuPont, was a 78 year member at South Parkersburg United Methodist Church where he was youth leader, Sunday school superintendent, and various other roles. Carman was also a 30 year member of The Servant’s Quartet. He was a talented bowler and an avid golfer, playing with his buddies, Ross, Burl, and Chuck. He loved taking their quarters.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 71 years whom he met at church at the age of 16, Beverly Holbert Adams; his son, Mark Adams (Valma, whom he dearly loved as a daughter); grandchildren, Andrea Williams (Brian), Nikki Full (Mark), Mark Alan Adams II, Rhonda Reed (J.D.), Michael Wilburn (Karie); 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Rick Dequasie and Pastor Edward Craft officiating at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St. Burial will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Friday.
