Carla Annette Swingle

Carla Annette Swingle, 57, of Parkersburg, passed away October 29, 2018 at her residence. She was born December 19, 1960 in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Stanley and Cloey Weather Swingle. Carla served her country in the U.S. Air Force and earned her bachelors degree from WV University at Parkersburg. She was a personnel systems manager for the Civil Service and the United States Air Force. She enjoyed sewing, monogramming, collecting Hummels and Fenton Glass. She especially enjoyed her granddaughter, Carleighny and her toy poodle, Dexter. She was a protestant by faith. Carla is survived by her husband, Lloyd Thompson of Parkersburg; her daughter, Amanda Merkle of Parkersburg; her granddaughter, Carleighny Merkle of Parkersburg; two sisters, Janice Bailey (David) and Diana Cramlet both of Parkersburg; two nieces, Kimberly Merritt and Cynthia Cramlet; and one great-niece, Sierra Riel all of Parkersburg. At Carla’s request there will be no visitation or funeral. Memorial donations may be made to The D.A.V.
