Calvin Edward Roberts,

Calvin Edward “Ed” Roberts, Jr., 57, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016 at his residence. He was born January 17, 1959 in Parkersburg, W.Va., a son of Leila Carpenter of Vienna and the late Calvin Edward Roberts, Sr. Ed was a U.S. Army Reserve veteran and was a member of the Rock Church in Parkersburg where he was active in the Bible Study group and drove the church bus. Ed traveled to several of the Rock Churches and dedicated his time and help to get them started. He loved the Lord and dedicated his life serving the Lord and helping others. Ed enjoyed snow skiing, swimming, camping, fishing, and loved working with his hands. In addition to his mother, Leila Carpenter, he is survived by his sister, Pamela Robey (Michael) of Vienna; his step-sister, Lynn Carpenter of Vienna; one nephew, Michael C. Robey of Waverly, W.Va.; one uncle, Charles Roberts (Ellen) of Parkersburg,W.Va.; two aunts, Teresa Hart and Mary Isabel Hart both of Parkersburg; and several others aunts and cousins. In addition to his father, Calvin E. Roberts, Sr., he was preceded in death by his step-father, Jim Carpenter; and his grandparents, Russell and Bonnie Hart and Coy and Irene Roberts. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, at The Rock Church with Pastor David Chisolm officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:oo p.m. Monday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Rock Church in memory of Ed.
