Calvin Eugene Daniels, 81, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away on May 7, 2015 at Camden Clark Medical Center.He was born September 5, 1933, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Frank “Bus” and Katherine Jones Daniels.Calvin attended Sumner High School of Parkersburg, was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict, and retired as a Supervisor from the Food and Drug Administration. After retirement, he came back to his hometown of Parkersburg where he was a member of the American Legion Post #15 and Zion Baptist Church.He volunteered for the Salvation Army and Habitat for Humanity and loved music, dancing and reading.He is survived by his sister, Margaret Daniels of Columbia, Maryland; two nephews, John Daniels (Anna) of Hurricane, W.Va. and Paul Daniels of Columbia, Maryland; one niece, Wynema Cyrus of Parkersburg; many cousins, namely, Frank and Portia Daniels of Parkersburg who took care of Calvin during his illness.Frank was more like a brother to Calvin and was always there for him day and night; and one aunt, Helena Shaver (Larry) of Parkersburg.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Leonard Donaway; one sister, Frances Jones; and one brother, Harry Daniels.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2015 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg with Rev. Ramona Woods officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery with full military honors by American Legion Post 15, Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of services Monday at the funeral home.Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army or Habitat for Humanity.The family wishes to extend special thanks to the Wyngate Assisted Living Facility and Camden Clark Medical Center doctors and nurses who attended to Calvin.
