Calvin Coolidge Baker,

Calvin C. Baker, Jr., 72, of Vienna passed away on July 29, 2016, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg. Calvin was born in Clarksburg on February 12, 1944, a son of the late Calvin Coolidge and Helen Baker. He was a graduate of Tyler County High School, attended Fairmont State College, Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio, and graduated from Mountain State College in Parkersburg. He was married to Lynde Baker in 1980 in West Union. Calvin worked for Chrysler Airtemp in Dayton from 1968 to 1972. He retired from Federal Express in Parkersburg in 2009. He served in the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1968 and was stationed on the island of Crete during the Vietnam War in the USAF Security Service as a “ditty bopper” copying code. He was a member of the American Legion Post 15 in Parkersburg. He was a member of Shirley United Methodist Church in Shirley, W.Va., and attended Vienna Baptist Church. Calvin is survived by his wife, Lynde Baker, and three children: Brian R. Baker of Dayton, Andrea Ewart (Ron) of Dayton, and Jordan Baker of Vienna; one granddaughter, Chelsea Ewart, of Dayton, and two brothers, David Baker (Carol) of Parkersburg and Tim Baker (Lucy) of Dayton. In addition to his parents, Calvin was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Baker, a sister, Belva Baker Price, and his previous spouse, Patricia Baker. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, August 5th, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home in Vienna. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 6th, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Pratt of Vienna Baptist Church officiating. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Saturday from 1:00 until time of service. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. The family of Calvin wishes to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Smith and Sister June of Camden Clark Emergency Room for their compassion and assistance.
