C. "Faye" Thorn

C. “Faye” Penn Thorn passed away Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017 at the age of 89 after a long debilitating illness. She was the daughter of Mabel Joy West Thompson and Willis Thompson. Faye was born in Parkersburg, WV, Sept. 23, 1928 but was raised in the mountains of WV in the city of Parsons. She graduated from Parsons High School. Faye was a loving mother and instilled principles and values in her children that helped shape their lives. She was tender-hearted and loved all of Jehovah God's creations. She had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing and music. Being one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for many years, she looked forward to the Bible’s promise of an end to sickness and death and to the hope of a resurrection to life on a paradise earth. She is survived by four children, Pamela Stephens of Parkersburg, Shauna (Bill) DeQuasie of Vienna, David Penn of Parkersburg, and Lori (Mike)Fitzgerald of Parkersburg; seven grandchildren, Scott Stephens, Sheri Bunch, Chad Stephens, Matt Penn, Mark DeQuasie, Nikki Laverack, Aaron Fitzgerald; and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; and two brothers, Vincent J. Gorsky and Ronald Gorsky. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on College Parkway with John Bunch officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service Thursday at the Kingdom Hall.
