Alice Buckley, 88, of Belpre and Coolville, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010 at her home in Belpre of Alzheimer's disease.Born February 7, 1922, in Wood County, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late John and Drucilla Bibbee Cline.Alice retired from Union Insulating/Challenger after more than 43 years of service. Before her illness she attended the Gospel Baptist Church in Torch and was a former member of the Lottridge Senior Citizens and Lottridge Community Center. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, quilting and sewing.She is survived by two sons: Melvin D. Buckley of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Marvin D. (Wilma) Buckley of Coolville, Ohio; four grandchildren, Timothy (Paula) Buckley of Reedsville, Ohio, Christina (Joe) Schreckengost and Ronald (Brenda) Buckley of Coolville, Ohio and Belinda (Mike) Niday of Parkersburg, W.Va.; six great-grandchildren, Breea, Brad, Ryan, and Carlie Buckley, and Kaycee and Karey Schreckengost; her ex-daughter-in-law, Bonnie Buckley, of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Herman C. Buckley; three brothers, Nelson, Albert, and Lloyd Cline; and four sisters, Peggy Reese, Lola Patterson, Opal McIntire, and Clarestine Leach.The family would like to especially thank her caregivers, Alice Righter, Lorraine Scarborough, and Linda Smith and Hospice for their assistance in her care.Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Boulevard, Belpre with the Pastor Jay Hubbard officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Memory Gardens, Belpre. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.Memorials are preferred to Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
