Brooks Steven Layner

Brooks Steven Layner Jr., 58, of Parkersburg, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at his residence. He was born November 15, 1959, in Parkersburg, WV, son of the late Brooks Steven, Sr. and Kathryn N. Kelley Layner. Steven was always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his girlfriend, Tamberly Shirley; his siblings, Anthony (Lesa) Layner of Parkersburg, Evelyn Wayne of Cleveland, OH, Roberta Sims (David) of Rockport, WV, Larry Dennis (Donna) of Parkersburg, Joyce Starcher (J R), of Slate, WV, Denzil Seckman of Parkersburg, Ronnie Layner (Dorothy), of Cleveland, OH, Janet Wright (Jim) of Parkersburg and Sharon Dowler (Jake) of Parkersburg. In addition to his parents, Steven was preceded in death by his two sisters, April Swearingen and Kathy E. Cross; and three brothers, James Layner, Melvin Layner and Darrell Dennis. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St, south Parkersburg with Pastor Glen McBride officiating. Interment will follow at Merrill Chapel Cemetery in Elizabeth, WV. Visitation will be from 12-1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
