Brenda S. Mercer

Brenda Susan Mercer age 56 of Elizabeth, WV passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the Sistersville General Hospital. She was born January 26, 1962 in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of the late Charles Lewis Mercer and Flora Irene Myers Day. Brenda was a graduate of John Marshall High School and was a LPN at the Willows Nursing Facility and worked in home health. She enjoyed bingo, shopping, playing softball and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She attended the Newark Baptist Church. Brenda is survived by her son, John Edward Palmer (Tabatha Cunningham) of Parkersburg; her daughter, Tia Lyn Nicholas (Jesse James) of Elizabeth, WV; her brother, Rick Mercer of Wheeling; her sister, Diana Mercer-Ezell of Indiana; eleven grandchildren, Shyla, Jeromie, Emily, Blake, Haylee, Little John, Ashton, Jermiah, Allison, Jesse, and Destiny; and two great-grandchildren, Bently and Lucas. In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her son, Jason Andrew Poling; and step-father, John Day. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St, south Parkersburg with Pastor Janet Richards officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
