Brian Lee Somerville

Brian Lee Somerville, 65, of Parkersburg, passed away November 15, 2024 at The James Cancer Center at OSU. He was born July 17, 1959 in Parkersburg to the late G. Lee and S. Sue Gum Somerville.

Brian enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a 1977 graduate of Parkersburg South High School where he was also the “best drummer” in the marching band. Brian loved his sisters dearly and was always pestering them. He was also the best Uncle “Bub”. Brian was a sixth-degree black belt in Aikido. He was soft spoken and enjoyed telling jokes. He was an employee of the Wood County Sheriff’s Department.

Left to cherish his memory include his sisters, Cathy (Steve), Lauren (Paul), Beth (Blaine), and Janet (Paul); his ex-wife and special caretaker, Paula; ten nieces and nephews; thirteen great-nieces and nephews; special extended family members, Mary Ann and Donna; and life long friends, Clint and John.

The family would like to thank Dr. Edmund Folefac and his team at the James Cancer Center and all the doctors and team members at Strecker Cancer Center.

In his giving nature, his final wish was to help others by donating his body for cancer research.

A memorial Service will be conducted at a later date.
