Booker T. Smith

Booker T. Smith, 89 of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away March 25, 2015 at Camden Clark Medical Center.He was born December 8, 1925 in Dawson, GA a son of the late Fort and Hattie Smith. He served in the U.S. Navy, was a member of the American Legion and an avid golfer. He was a member of the Logan Memorial United Methodist Church.Booker is survived by his daughters, Candace Mitchell (Thomas) of Gibsonia, PA, Valerie Voliton of Reno, NV, Linda Mayfield, Felicia Smith, Brenda Smith and Alice Fleet all of Georgia; his sons, Frank M. Smith and Sean Voliton both of Parkersburg, Pete Smith, Booker T. Smith Jr. and Alphonso Smith all of Georgia; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Nada Brown Smith; three brothers; and four sisters.Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Logan Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Thomas Dean officiating.Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery with military services by American Legion Post #15 of Parkersburg. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg and one hour prior to services at the church.Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association @ www.alz.org/wv .
