Betty A. Wingrove, 91, of Waverly, WV, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Camden Clark Medical Center. She was born April 22, 1928 in Birmingham, Alabama, a daughter of the late George and Mary Elizabeth Godwin Blaich. Betty was retired from the Colin Anderson Center after many years of service. She was a member of the Waverly United Methodist Church and enjoyed crocheting, working puzzle books, going to church on Sunday and spending time with her family. Betty is survived by her children, Ruth Phillips (Donald) of Waverly, Cathy Gwaltney (Mike Hinson) of Mooresville, NC and one son; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and adopted children, Lottie Martin of Waverly and Reta Lyons of Parkersburg. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Wingrove; her daughter, Robin Hart; brother, George William Blaich; two sisters, Margaret Cheatham and Mable Kirchler; and adopted son, Thomas Clegg. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at the Waverly United Methodist Church with Rev. Terry Alvarez officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Tuesday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Green St., Parkersburg.
