Betty Jean Stewart

Betty Jean Hammond Stewart, 86, of Walker, WV passed away March 1, 2019 at her residence. She was born January 26, 1933 in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Raymond Robert and Pearl McCartny Hammond. She was a 1950 graduate of PHS, worked as a bookkeeper and volunteered at Old Man Rivers. She also enjoyed reading. Betty is survived by a son, Terry L. Archer (Phyllis) of Walker; a sister, Shirley Wanzo of Marietta, Ohio; two brothers, Robert Hammond (Shirley) of Vienna, WV and Richard Hammond (Rosemary) of Miami, FL; and two grandchildren, Megan Archer and Ryan Archer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenver Stewart; her first husband, Herbert Edward Archer; a sister, Helen Myer; and two brothers, Donald Hammond and David Hammond. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg with Pastor Tim Burch officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
