Betty Marie Rolfe

Betty Marie Berg Rolfe, 89, of Marietta, Ohio passed away June 6, 2015 at Eagle Pointe in Parkersburg, W.Va.She was born in Marietta on December 7, 1925, a daughter of the late Edward and Ella Biehl Berg.She graduated from Marietta High School. She was employed at Emerson Lanes for over 20 years where she taught bowling, organized leagues and was a desk clerk. In 1961 she was first place in the Ohio Bowling League Tournament. That same year she competed in the United States National Bowling Tournament held in Omaha, Nebraska where she finished in ninth place. She was club champion at Worthington Golf Club in Parkersburg five different years. She was a former club champion at the Marietta Country Club, and was club champion at Oakhurst Country Club in Columbus, Ohio. Betty was very active throughout the years in her community. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Church in Marietta where she participated in many church functions including organist and pianist. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all.She is survived by one daughter, Suzanne Cordetti (Nick) of Columbus, Ohio; two sons, John Morrison (Dianne) of Bristow, Va. and Steven Morrison (Loretta) of Parkersburg; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Chauncey L. Morrison and her second husband, Charles Rolfe; three sisters, Elsie Gerkin, Mable Warren and Irene Berg; and three brothers, Albert, Raymond and Henry Berg.Funeral services for Betty will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, W.Va. with Pastor Todd Hill officiating. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Parkersburg, W.Va. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.The family wishes to extend their thanks to The Cottage and staff of Eagle Pointe.In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimers Assoc. of the Mid Ohio Valley, 1218 Market Street, Parkersburg, WV 26101.
