Betty Joan Patterson

Betty Joan Patterson, 77, of Williamstown, passed away February 22, 2018 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.She was born March 18, 1940 in Clarksburg, WV, the daughter of the late Virgil B. and Iona Dae (Cliffton) Knapp. Betty attended Victory High School in Clarksburg and retired as a Sales Associate from Sears & Roebuck with over 10 years of service. She enjoyed spending time with family especially her grandchildren, loved traveling to the beach and camping in the mountains. She also enjoyed crafting and painting. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Jim “Bob” Patterson; two daughters, Robyn Patterson Young (Jay Warren) of Marietta and Darla Uppole (Chris) of Williamstown; sister, Patty Swiger (Eddie); brothers, Gary Knapp (Kitty), Tom Knapp (Ramona) and Ronald Knapp (Carol); grandchildren, Sam Young, Ciara Flowers, Morell Uppole and Chase Uppole, plus several nieces and nephews and many friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathy Lane and Connie Cox; two brothers, Frederick Knapp and Larry Knapp. A visitation for Betty will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M., Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave, Vienna, WV.
