Betty L. Marlow, 81 of Vienna, W.Va., formerly of Cedar Grove, passed away Oct. 21, 2016 at Muskingum Skilled Nursing Facility of Beverly, Ohio. She was born October 5, 1935 in Gilmer County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Robert and Goldie Wright Turner. Betty was an LPN at St. Joseph's Hospital and was a former owner of Yielky's Restaurant in Parkersburg. She enjoyed Gospel music and was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church of Vienna. Surviving are three sons; Paul Thornton Jr. (Beth) of Vienna, Steve Thornton (Angela Drake) of Cedar Grove, and Randy Thornton of Charleston, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Dennis Thornton (Keturah), Michael Thornton (Sandy) and Shawn Thornton; four great-grandchildren, Tyler, Mei Yan, Channing, and Jacob Thornton; and one brother, Jack Gregg (Charlotte) of North Ridgeville, Ohio. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Don R. Marlow; and a son, Charles “Sonny” Thornton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday October 29, 2016 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. with Pastor Jon Lands officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
