Betty Marie Jackson

Betty Jackson, 95, of Parkersburg, passed away at Marietta Memorial Hospital April 25, 2024. She was born August 22, 1928, a daughter of the late Clyde and Ida McConaha Yarnell.

She was retired from JC Penny’s after many years of service. She attended the 19th Street Church of God, and was a member of the Moose Lodge in Parkersburg. She enjoyed painting, traveling, and dining at restaurants.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Clair “Junior” Jackson (Sheila) of Williamstown, Jerry “Jake” Jackson (Carol) of Walker, Steve Jackson (Sheila) of Davie, FL., Sherry Elschlager (Terry) of Washington, WV., and Tami Shabani (Sami) of Silver Springs, MD; her brother, Gary “Rick” Yarnell (Bernadine); two sisters-in-law, Libby Whited and Helen Yarnell; twelve grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Clair Jackson Sr.; one son, Robert Wires; two brothers, Carl “Bill” Yarnell and Clyde “Skip” Yarnell; and a sister-in-law, Ethel Yarnell.

Funeral service will be 1:00pm, Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, south Parkersburg, with Pastor Michael Branch officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Monday, April 29, 2024 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
