Betty June Shively

A Memorial Video for Betty is now available on this site.Betty June Shively, 82 of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away July 13, 2015 at her residence.She was born June 30, 1933 in Belleville, W.Va., a daughter of the late John and Opal Hartley Rake. She retired as an Administrative Assistant from Gress Equipment after 27 years of service. Betty was a volunteer for Meals On Wheels and was a member of Stout Memorial United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir.She is survived by two daughters, Michelle Carpenter (Ken) of Ft. Collins, CO and Joy Folczyk (Andy) of Sellersburg, IN; two sons, Matt Shively (Rosemary) and Jay Shively both of Parkersburg; a sister, Esther Boyd of Parkersburg; a brother, Danny Rake of Mineral Wells; and six grandchildren, David, Nicole, Kenny, Kyle, Megan and Harper.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Franklin Shively, Jr.; and several brothers and sisters.Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2015 at Stout Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Paul Russell officiating. There will be visitation one hour prior to services at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Betty's memory to Stout Memorial UM Church at 3329 Broad St. Parkersburg, WV 26104.Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 400 Green St. Parkersburg is assisting the family with arrangements.
