Betty Eileen Chidester

Betty Eileen Chidester, 90, of Pleasant Hill Community, Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on Feb. 25, 2014 in Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.She was born Dec. 8, 1923, in Wood County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Arthur E. and Lena Stephens Lake.Betty was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Rothwell of Parkersburg, W.Va., Margaret Muller of Lake City, Fla., and Delain (Steve) Smith of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; two sons, James (Linda) Chidester of Vincent, Ohio and Robert Chidester of Wichita, Kans.; one nephew whom she raised, Pastor Bernard Vandergrift; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford A. Chidester; one son, Donald Chidester; an infant daughter, Marilyn Chidester; one sister, Freda Cook; and one brother, Robert Lake.Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Chuck Furbee officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery on Lost Pavement Rd. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
