Betty Leonard Burnside, 93, of Parkersburg, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Worthington Health Care Facility. She was born February 17, 1926, in Kingsport, TN, a daughter of the late Harold E. and Lillian I. Rhodes Leonard. Betty was a member of the Eastern Star Wakoma Chapter #52, the Ladies Oriental Shrine and was a Baptist by faith. She enjoyed traveling and working in the Kawasaki store with her family where she could visit with others. She is survived by her two sons, Stephen Burnside (Sandy) of Elizabeth, WV and Max E. “Deuce” Burnside (Darlene) of Mineral Wells; one daughter-in-law, Peggy Burnside of Parkersburg; her significant other, Vance Grimm of Parkersburg; five grandchildren, Brian S. Burnside (Holly), Tracy L. Neptune (Jason), Beverly Pryce, Michelle Burnside and Billy Burnside (Jessie). Great-grandchildren, Caden, Cody, and Chylar Burnside, Garrett, Cole, Weston, and Emerson “Eme” Neptune, Devin Pryce Tremble, Katie and Brendon Pryce, Karley and Landon Burnside, Stephanie Rayne and Stryker Burnside, Cohen and Noah Staats; also her extended family, Jim and Karen Booth of Parkersburg, Debbie Sisson and family of Ripley and Debbie and Duane Patton of Davisville, WV. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Max E. “Jake” Burnside; son, C.D. “Doug” Burnside; granddaughter, Stephanie Burnside; grandson-in-law, Mark Pryce; and two brothers, Charles and Harry Eugene “Zeke” Leonard. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Sunday at the funeral home, with Pastors Jeff Williamson and Lance Hitt officiating. Entombment will follow at the Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
