Betty Kathryn Brooks

Betty Kathryn Brooks, 81, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away January 17, 2011, at the Arbors at Marietta. She was born July 4, 1929, in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Charles O. and Mary K. Eberhardt Shook.Betty retired after twenty-eight years from Kardex of Reno, Ohio. She enjoyed boating, fishing, playing cards, four-wheeler riding, and spending time with her family. Surviving is her loving husband of thirty-seven years, Walter Brooks; one daughter, Pamela Welch (Roger) of Davisville, W.Va.; two sons, Rick Bailes (Janice) of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and Terry Bailes (Shirley) of Wadesville, W.Va.; five step-children, Jimmy, Rusty, and Rex Brooks, Carolyn Valentine, and Regina Dawson; eight grandchildren, Crystal (Sholes) Mitchell (Lewis), Michelle (Hardman) Simmons (Chad), Tammy (Bailes) Fullerton (Shawn), Stacey Bailes McGrew, Suzanne Graham, Stephanie Whitehair, Joe Schreckengost (Christine), and Christopher Rudloph; several other grandchildren; and also a host of great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one step-daughter, Cathy Kidder. Visiting hours will be observed from 1-3PM on Saturday January 22, 2011, at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg, where friends and family will have the opportunity to share memories. Inurnment will follow at the Lubeck Cemetery following the memorial.
