Elizabeth Sue Carney Curry (Betsy) peacefully passed away with her husband by her side, early Sunday morning, March 1, 2020. She was under Hospice care at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born June 23, 1962 in Seaford, Delaware, a daughter of Marilyn Lee Campbell Carney and the late Charles Oval Linn Carney. Betsy grew up in Wytheville and was a graduate of George Wythe High School where her father was the principal. She was a fourth-generation attendee of Marshall University and received her Nursing degree from WVU-P. She was a Registered Nurse who loved home health. She was a longtime member of Trinity Episcopal Church and held strong convictions in life and in her faith. Betsy loved baking and loved teaching kids to bake and cook. Her house was a gathering place for kids and she would feed and entertain them. She loved traveling, especially the Scottish Highlands and loved taking family pictures. She loved music and enjoyed learning to play the violin. Betsy had a great sense of humor. She is survived her mother, Marilyn Lee Campbell Carney, her husband, Craig Curry; sons, Nicholas (MacKenzie) and their daughter, Sophia Curry, Clinton and Sean; brothers, Charles (Angel) Carney and their two children, Cate and Sarah; Clinton (Marielena) Carney and Jon (Angela) Carney; and father-in-law, Earl W. Curry, Jr. She is also survived by too many surrogate children to count. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Oval Linn Carney; her mother-in-law, Norma Jeane Curry; and her sister-in-law, Cynthia Lynn Curry. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Trinity Episcopal Church at 430 Juliana St. Parkersburg, WV 26101. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Trinity Episcopal Church with The Very Reverend Paul L. Hicks officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg.
