Benita Joyce Dean

Benita Joyce Maynard Dean, 79, of Mineral Wells, passed away on February 4, 2015 at Camden Clark Medical Center.She was born October 9, 1935, in Kenova, W.Va., a daughter of the late Dennis and Ona Shoop Maynard.Benita was a graduate of Ceredo-Kenova High School. She was a homemaker and had previously been employed at Ralph's Market. She was a long-time volunteer at St. Joseph's Hospital and was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. She enjoyed quilting and was an avid reader.She is survived by two sons, Charles R. “Randy” and wife,Jerry R., and Mark A. Dean, both of Mineral Wells; one daughter, Laura G. Dean of Mineral Wells; three grandchildren, Miranda Lewis and husband, A. J., Charles B. “Brew” Dean II and wife, Melissa, and Macey E. Dean; four great-grandchildren, Miryan, Makalyn and Madalaine Lewis, and Jackson Dean; one brother, Kenneth (Thelma) Maynard of Kenova; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Dean, in 2008; five sisters, Ada Lee Maynard, Gaylene Workman, Norma Staras,Helen Riddle and Gladys Dishman.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Kevin Lantz officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery.Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
