Genevieve Belle Jones, 93, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away May 8, 2017 at the home of her daughter and caregiver, Sharon Winans of Lubeck. Jenny was born January 28, 1924, in Harrison County, WV, the youngest child of William Franklin and Belle Floyd Sandy. Prior to her death, Jenny was a resident of Love and Care Assisted Living Facility. She attended The Gospel Tabernacle Church of South Parkersburg and retired as Corporate Secretary from Cook Motor Lines. She was active in the National Federation of the Blind, where she served as Secretary to the local chapter and she served as a volunteer at the Wood County Public Library for several years. In addition to her daughter, Sharon, she is survived by daughter, Donna (Laken) Casto of Mineral Wells, WV; two sons, James (Diana) Jones of Belpre, OH and Ronald (Sandra) Jones of Mineral Wells, WV; five grandchildren, Gregory (Jamie) Winans, Steve Winans, Jaima (Brandon) Brown, Alan (Shannon) Hedrick and Nathan Jones; two great-granchildren, four step-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren, and two step-great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Denzil in 2008. Even though Denzil was blind for 35 years prior to his death, they enjoyed their life together and Jenny was a wonderful help meet to him. They spent several winters in Florida and enjoyed camping with family and traveling with friends. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Heater; two brothers, Earl and William Sandy; and her son in-law, Gary Winans. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Wayne Boone officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
