Beatrice Leeson

Beatrice “Betty” Fitzgerald Leeson, of Parkersburg, West Virginia went peacefully to be with the Lord with her family by her side on December 4, 2017. She was born September 5, 1933 in Parkersburg, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late George Webster Fitzgerald and Elizabeth Cunningham Fitzgerald. Betty grew up on the Kanawha River and loved swimming in her younger years. Later in life, spending time with her family brought her great joy and she also enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and collecting antiques. Betty is survived by her children, Gary Brightwell and Barbara Dunn both of Parkersburg, WV, Russell Leeson of Mineral Wells, WV, Mark Leeson also of Parkersburg, WV, Kathy Scartozzi of Charlotte, NC, Joane Dodrill of Loveland, OH; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Agnes Flanigan and Mae Rake, both of Parkersburg, WV. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Orval “Bud” Leeson; both of her parents; a half-brother, Thomas Fitzgerald; two brothers, George and Paul “Buddy” Fitzgerald; one sister, Mary Fitzgerald; and two grandsons, Eric Dunn and Chandler Dodrill. The family will celebrate Betty's life during a private ceremony and burial at Cabin Run Cemetery. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
