Barbara Ann Swesey

Barbara Ann Swesey, 61 of Cairo, W.Va.passed away March 2, 2012 at her residence. She was born in Harrisville, W.Va. a daughter Bernice Pifer Shields of Belmont, W.Va. and the late Wilbur Shields. She was a graduate of Cairo High School and Parkersburg Beauty College. Barbara had been the Activities Director at the Willows Nursing Facility and acting president of the Glendale Women's Club. She enjoyed farming, loved her animals and was a homemaker. She is survived by two sisters, Beulah Webb (Oscar) of St. Marys, W.Va., and Carolyn Lonas (Robert) of Washington, W.Va.; two aunts, Polly Wilson of PA, and Mildred Hart of Pike, W.Va.; one uncle, Pearly Pifer of Pike, W.Va.; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dog, Sam. In addition to her father, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, George F. Swesey. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wed. March 7, 2012 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Dean Ash officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
