Barbara Lane Morris

Barbara Lane Morris, 62, of Williamstown, W.Va., passed away on Feb. 26, 2015 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.She was born Oct. 23, 1952, in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Robert and Edna Hannan Kerns.Barb was a former member of Job's Daughters in Parkersburg, a 1970 graduate of Parkersburg High School and received her RN degree from Parkersburg Community College.She worked many years as an RN at St. Joseph's Hospital where she was a dialysis nurse and a neurosurgical nurse.She was a traveling nurse and practiced in several states throughout the country.She was a volunteer with the Family Crisis Center.She is survived by two daughters, Amy Powers of Parkersburg and Sarah Stout (Sam) of Parkersburg; one step-daughter, Christy Bird (Darrin) of Huntington, W.Va.; one brother, David Kerns (Anne) of Parkersburg; seven grandchildren; and a friend and companion, John Witt of Williamstown.A memorial service will be held at 6:00 on Thursday, March 5, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Chris Mullett officiating.The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, 220 East 8th St., Parkersburg, WV26101.
