Barbara Ilene Martin

Barbara Ilene Martin, 78, of Palestine, W.Va. passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital.She was born March 24, 1936, the daughter of the late Virgil and Dorotha Enoch Davis. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Denzil Denton Martin Sr;, one brother, Francis Davis; and sister, Neva Toncray.She is survived by her loving daughter, Charlotte Ilene Oxley (Gary), of Panama City, Fla.; her faithful devoted son, Denzil Denton Martin, Jr. (Cheryl); four grandchildren, Tracey Joy (David) of Rockport, W.Va., Joshua Martin, Sandyville, W.Va., Denton (Denny) Martin, Palestine, W.Va., Curtis Oxley, Panama City, Fla.; and one great-granddaughter, Taylor Faith Martin.Barbara enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, spending quality time with her family, and visiting the beaches of North Carolina and Northwest Florida.Barbara was an active member of Tri County Worship Center, Rockport and faithfully served those in need by preparing meals at the church's Faith Kitchen.Funeral services to celebrate Barbara's life will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., South Parkersburg with Pastor Everett Snyder officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and one hour prior to the services Thursday at the funeral home.
