Barbara Jean Johnston

Barbara Johnston, 65, of Parkersburg passed away March 5, 2015 after a courageous battle against cancer and COPD.She was born November 19, 1949 in Elizabeth, WV to the late Roy and Margaret Phillips.She was a former employee of Dollar General and Big Lots of South Parkersburg, where she enjoyed working with the public and made many friends. In addition to working with the public, she liked gardening, plants and flowers, shopping, puzzles, and talking with friends via social media and text.Barbara is survived by three children; Beverly Mundy (Joe) of South Point, Ohio, Arnold Johnston II (Linda) of Marietta, Ohio and Donna Morris (Bill) of Mineral Wells; seven grandchildren, Josh Wherry, Anthony Johnston, Christopher Johnston, Pamela Johnston, Serrena Morris, Katilyn Hall and Jasmine Morris; four grandchildren by marriage, Steven Rowe, Sierra, Katelyn and Jobie Mundy; two great-grandchildren, Laikyn Lockhart and Hunter Leggitt; four sisters, Sally Vincent, Mary Ann Phillips,Carolin Smith (Terry), and Nancy Dillon all of Parkersburg; one brother, Steve Phillips of Paducah, Ky; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to these family members she is also survived by her boyfriend of many years, Roy Whited, Jr.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Ralph Vincent and Ron-“RC” Dillon.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Chris Waldron officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.Donations may be made to Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, South Parkersburg to assist the family with funeral expenses.
