Audrey Ellen Modesitt

Audrey Ellen Modesitt, 62, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away Thursday June 18, 2026.

She was born October 14, 1963 in Charleston, South Carolina, a daughter to Ruby Landers Payne of Sissonville, WV and the late Richard Payne.

Audrey was a waitress at Mary B’s restaurant and a member of Williams Creek Baptist Church. She loved horses, Halloween, Christmas and her dogs, Sady Merlin and Cujo.

In addition to her mother, left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, David Modesitt; daughter, Heather Riel (Joshua Hinchman) of Parkersburg; son, Jason Payne of Sissonville; step-son, Thomas Modesitt of Parkersburg; siblings, Virgil Payne of Florida, Gene Payne of Sissonville and Narkita Windham (Tim) of Sissonville; three grandchildren, Erinn, Rylee and Elijah; step-grandchildren, Keira, Isaac, Athena and Mason.

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her son, Gary Boggs; and two brothers, Rick and Jim Payne.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Parkersburg in honor of Audrey.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Green Street with Pastor Mike Warner officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until time of service.
