Arthur G. Bolyard

December 16, 1944 — July 10, 2017

Arthur G. “Art” Bolyard, 72, of Parkersburg went to be with the Lord, July 10, 2017, at The Arbors of Marietta. He was born December 16, 1944 in Fairmont, WV, the son of the late Gail and Sara Hale Bolyard. Art was a graduate of East Fairmont High School, he went on to Fairmont State College where he received his B.A. Degree and received his Masters Degree plus additional hours at WV University in Morgantown. Art was one of the first teachers at Parkersburg South High School where he taught business and psychology and was senior class sponsor. He was Vice-Principal at Jackson Junior High School and Parkersburg South High School and was Principal at Hamilton Junior High School. He was a member of the Wayside United Methodist Church where he sang in the church choir. He was an avid golfer at the Golf Club of WV where he also worked. Art enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Delia Dee Williams Bolyard; one son, Samuel Seth Bolyard of Oakland, California; one brother, Hurf Bolyard (Elizabeth) of Clendenin, WV; two brothers-in-law, Rudy Williams of Fairmont, WV and Bill Williams (Becky) of Mannington, WV; three nieces, Anne Bolyard, Annie Williams (Ethan) and Molly Williams; one nephew, Brian Bolyard (Sara) and one great-nephew, William Bolyard. His two faithful companions, Callie Sue and Lilly Lou. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Sarabeth Bolyard. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the Wayside United Methodist Church with Pastors, Greg Blair and Sandy Runnion officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Saturday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, WV and one hour prior to services Sunday at the church. The family extends special thanks to Donna Adams and Dr. Jessica Shreve for their love and care. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wayside United Methodist Church Building Fund, 3001 Grand Central Ave, Vienna, WV 26105.
