Anthony Joseph Civitillo

February 13, 1961 — May 16, 2025

Washington

Anthony Joseph "Tony" Civitillo, 64, lovingly known as Tony, passed peacefully from this life on the morning of May 16, 2025, after a courageous battle with ALS. He was surrounded and supported by his devoted wife of 25 years, Rebecca, their daughter Amanda Mundy, his beloved church family, and dedicated caregivers.

Born on February 13, 1961, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, Tony was a longtime resident of Washington, WV. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and National Guard for six years and later enjoyed a fulfilling 11-year career as a Lowe’s associate. A lifelong member of the Waverly Church of Christ in Waverly, WV, Tony was a devoted song leader, known for his unwavering faith, love for his church family, and heartfelt service to God. Tony's love for nature fueled his passion for hunting and fishing, often shared with his best friend Mitchell Smith. He found great joy in teaching his daughter Amanda how to build and fix things, always reminding her, “Now we have to think this through.” His patience, wisdom, and guidance will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him—especially in the cherished memories made with his grandchildren at the pond’s edge.

Tony's warmth, strength, and joyful spirit touched all who knew him and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Civitillo (Barker); his daughter, Amanda Mundy of Washington, WV; and his three adored grandchildren, Sierra Mundy, Katelyn Mundy, and Joseph Mundy III. He is also survived by his mother Mae Civitillo; preceded in death by his father his father Joe Civitillo, his 2 siblings Troy Civitillo (Dorothy) and sister Trudy Mullens (George), one son Shane Civitillo and daughter Kyla Stanley; and many dear friends.
